SFCC graduates

SFCC graduates with certificates and associate degrees are well prepared to continue their education. The Higher Education Center would provide bachelor's completion programs here in Santa Fe.

"I think this is a wonderful opportunity for the people of Santa Fe. The Higher Education Center will bring opportunities for bachelor's and master's degrees that do not currently exist for the community. I do not know of a better, more cost effective way to provide access to higher education to people in Santa Fe."

Eastern New Mexico University President Steven Gamble

"If we are going to increase the number of college graduates in New Mexico, we must find new ways to make higher education accessible and affordable in our local communities," she said, adding: "We at UNM see the Higher Education Center proposed for Santa Fe as an excellent way to help build the economy and grow an educated workforce for New Mexico. We look forward to collaborating with Santa Fe Community College to make the center a reality."

University of New Mexico Provost Suzanne Ortega

"I commute twice a week to Highlands University in Las Vegas because the College of Santa Fe does not offer my degree, and UNM would not take most of my credit hours.

It would be a blessing to have a four-year institution here in Santa Fe so that students like myself who are lifelong learners could stay local rather than spending the time and money to commute."
